MyWhoosh and Favero partner to strengthen power-data integrity in Sunday Race Club

From 1 October 2026, riders in MyWhoosh’s Sunday Race Club will be required to use Favero Assioma PRO pedals as their primary in-game power source to further strengthen MyWhoosh as the most trustworthy e-sports platform to compete on.

MyWhoosh and Favero Electronics have announced a new technical and promotional collaboration designed to strengthen the accuracy, consistency and verification of power data across MyWhoosh Sunday Race Club events. From 1 October 2026, specified Sunday Race Club riders will be required to use an approved Favero Assioma PRO RS-2 or PRO RL-2 power meter as their primary in-game power source.

Throughout October, MyWhoosh and Favero will test the new connection and reporting process under live race conditions. This will include moving the Assioma PRO pedals to the primary power source controlling the rider’s in-game performance.

The full integration will culminate in the official launch of MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode between late October and early November 2026. MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode will be a functionality in the Favero pedals that, when enabled, will automatically verify the rider’s power meter for Sunday Race Club. The exact launch date will be confirmed in the coming weeks.

Why Favero Assioma PRO?

The partnership between MyWhoosh and Favero reflects the well known accuracy, consistency, and reliability of the Assioma platform.

Assioma PRO pedals provide a stated accuracy of ±1% and use Favero’s IAV Power System to measure variations in angular velocity throughout each pedal stroke. This supports consistent power measurement during high-cadence riding, explosive efforts and other conditions commonly experienced in cycling esports.

Assioma PRO pedals are commercially available through Favero’s online store and international retailer network and the two approved road models support the cleat systems most widely used by competitive cyclists:

This combination of proven accuracy, international availability, and compatibility with established road-pedal systems makes Assioma PRO a practical standard for international e-sports competition.

This is an important next step in strengthening the standards behind professional-level cycling esports,” said Matt Smithson, Director of Esports & Game Operations at MyWhoosh.

Assioma PRO was developed to provide accurate, consistent and reliable power data in real riding conditions,” said Erika Martinazzo, Head of Marketing at Favero Electronics.

Working directly with MyWhoosh allows us to support the specific technical requirements of high-level virtual racing while maintaining the flexibility and control expected by Assioma users. This integration will give MyWhoosh greater visibility into the source and consistency of race power while allowing the transmission of additional information to remain optional for riders using our products outside this competitive environment.

Required setup from 4 October

From 4 October 2026, affected riders who wish to compete in Sunday Race Club must select their approved Assioma PRO RS-2 or PRO RL-2 pedals as the primary power source within MyWhoosh.

Power reported by the Assioma PRO pedals will:

The rider’s smart trainer will remain connected as the controllable device and will continue to provide resistance and gradient simulation. However, trainer-reported power will no longer control in-game performance or determine official race results for affected riders.

This reverses the previous race setup, in which the smart trainer generally provided the primary in-game power while a separate power meter was used as a secondary verification source.

October testing and integration period

The Assioma PRO hardware requirement and new primary-power setup will be compulsory from 4 October for category 1 and 2 riders wishing to compete in Sunday Race Club.

Throughout October, MyWhoosh and Favero will test and validate the new connection process during Sunday Race Club events before the dedicated MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode functionality is introduced to the Favero pedals and to MyWhoosh’s platform.

The October testing period will allow both companies to:

Existing MyWhoosh verification processes and integrity monitoring will continue throughout this period.

Official introduction of MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode

The official MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode functionality will be released between late October and early November 2026. MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode will be a functionality in the Favero pedals that automatically verifies the rider’s power meter for Sunday Race Club. The software will do this by enabling the transmission of additional parameters required for Sunday Race Club verification from the Favero device to the MyWhoosh platform. This will require a corresponding firmware update and an update to the Favero Assioma mobile application.

When this mode is enabled, MyWhoosh will be able to receive additional information directly from the pedals, in particular crank length and power scale factor data. This will provide MyWhoosh with greater visibility into how power is measured, configured and transmitted, creating a clearer and more auditable data trail for race verification.

Transmission of these additional parameters will remain optional for general Assioma users and can be enabled or disabled through the Favero Assioma app. However, it must be activated by affected riders wishing to compete in MyWhoosh’s Sunday Race Club.

A correctly configured Assioma PRO setup operating in MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode will be automatically accepted for power-source verification, subject to MyWhoosh’s standard integrity monitoring and provided there are no critical hardware, firmware or data-related issues.

Riders covered by the requirement

The approved Assioma PRO setup will be mandatory from 4 October for:

Assioma PRO will also be strongly recommended for all other Sunday Race Club participants because of its accuracy, consistency and direct integration with MyWhoosh’s verification systems.

Riders who already own an approved Assioma PRO RS-2 or PRO RL-2 model will be able to continue using their existing pedals. They will be required to install the dedicated firmware update and activate MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode on the Favero Assioma app once the new functionality becomes available.

Equipment access and prize eligibility

MyWhoosh recognises that this is a meaningful change and that some riders may need to purchase new equipment.

Affected riders are being given advance notice to source approved pedals through cycling.favero.com or an authorised retailer, install them and test their complete race setup before 4 October. From 4 October, affected riders without a compliant Assioma PRO RS-2 or PRO RL-2 setup will still be permitted to participate in Sunday Race Club events. However, they will not be eligible to receive prize money until the equipment requirements have been met.

Once MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode is officially released, affected riders must also install the required updates and activate the new functionality on the Favero Assioma app to remain eligible for prize money.

From 4 October, Assioma will become the rider’s primary in-game power source. The October testing period will then allow us to validate the complete connection and reporting process under live race conditions before introducing the additional MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode functionality.” Matt Smithson added.

With the level of competition and prize money available across Sunday Race Club and other premium MyWhoosh events, we need power data that is accurate, consistent and independently auditable. Favero was the natural choice because of its established reputation for accuracy and reliability, the accessibility of its products across international markets, and its willingness to work directly with us on a solution developed specifically for cycling esports.

What MyWhoosh eSports Race Mode does

A function within the Favero pedals that, once enabled via firmware and app update, transmits additional parameters to MyWhoosh, in particular crank length and power scale factor. This creates an auditable data trail for race verification. Transmission stays optional for general Assioma users and can be switched on or off in the Favero Assioma app. It is compulsory for affected Sunday Race Club riders.
