Tune Up Tuesday

Tune Up Tuesday will be on three consecutive Tuesday evenings (GST) starting June 7. Think of it as a short-course, high-pace, and action-packed version of SRC. It will feature weekly stages of approximately 25km each, containing short sprints and K/QOM segments, and you’ll race with riders of similar ability levels.

Every week we receive valuable feedback from competitors in our Sunday Race Club. We’ve heard requests for shorter courses, different segments on the courses, and even the ability to only see your category in the race. We’ve taken on this feedback and developed a brand new racing format that will provide unique and exciting racing, in the middle of the week.

The Courses

Racing your bike, even in the virtual world, is hard work. It should be a fast-paced, high-intensity workout that pushes you to your limits.
 
We’ve chosen racecourses and included Sprint and Mountain Climbing bonus segments to give all different types of riders a goal to race for.

The Points

Score points and try to win a classification leaders jersey while adding extra excitement to the racing. Each segment has point values for a different classification. NEW* For this racing format, points will be awarded to the first rider in each category to cross the designated line. It will not be awarded to the fastest rider through the segment.

The Jerseys

Everyone has something to race for with a leader’s jersey in multiple classifications. Take the lead in a specific category and show off the fantastic leader’s jersey in the next stage.

Overall Leader – Yellow Jersey

The rider with the lowest overall time following each stage will wear the Yellow Jersey for the next stage.

Team Leader – Blue & Gold Jersey

The team with the lowest overall time of their best placed top 3 riders following each stage will all wear the Blue & Gold Jersey for the next stage.

King or Queen of Mountains – Polka Dot Jersey

The Categories

Our dynamic categorisation system will categorise Riders before the start of the race. You must register with accurate information, but our analytics system will also look at your previous performance history on our platform and group riders into similar ability levels to make the racing fun and fair. 
 
No less than 2 hours before the race start, you will receive an email from events@mywhoosh.com with information regarding your race category, your team jersey, and a start list of your competitors. When you log into the game, you will see you have been registered for the correct event; all you need to do is click “Join Event” on the yellow button.

How to enter Tune Up Tuesday Racing?

It’s easy, create a MyWhoosh account on our website, register for the event here (at least 24 hours before the event) then download the latest version of the app on your device. Open the app at least an hour before the race, connect your trainer and heart rate and join the event. We do suggest a ride or two on MyWhoosh before the race to check out our fantastic features.
